How to use Zoom videoconferencing
What is Zoom?
Zoom is a leading enterprise grade video communications technology, trusted by many of Australia's largest organisations. We've selected Zoom as an easy to use, reliable and secure video and audio conferencing service to deliver our remote care services.
Preparation for a hassle-free experience (optional)
1. Download Zoom app (recommended)
To ensure a hassle-free experience with your first Zoom appointment with us, if you don't already have the Zoom Application - we encourage you to download and install before your first appointment. You only need to do this once and it should only take 1-2 minutes.
2. Run a meeting test
Visit https://zoom.us/test to launch a test meeting if you'd like to test the technology or hardware before your appointment. This can be useful if you haven't used your computer's microphone or speakers in a while.
How to connect
Option 1: Join via link (recommended)
The easiest way to join your appointment directly by video is to use the link we will send you via SMS or email to "Join Zoom Meeting" which looks like something like this: https://zoom.us/j/(9 digit number e.g. 734 604 333).
- Simply click on the link and follow the prompts to join the appointment.
- If it is the first time you have used Zoom you may be prompted to download & run the Zoom application - we recommend doing this for easier access next time. If you prefer not to download Zoom, just follow the link at the bottom of the page which says "If you cannot download or run the application, join from your browser."
- You will arrive in the waiting room, when your practitioner arrives they will automatically admit you to commence the appointment.
- Once you are in the meeting you can either join by computer audio if you have a microphone and speakers attached to your computer, or follow the instructions below to instead dial in with phone audio.
Option 2: Join via Zoom website with video
using your smartphone, tablet/iPad, laptop or desktop computer. Your practitioner will connect with video, so we recommend joining your appointment this way so you can see them.
